What does it taste like?

This is a bright, sweet coffee with lots of complex layers of fruity flavour. There's a soft acidity which tastes like white grapes and passionfruit, and some caramel sweetness which gives a tropical edge to that fruitiness. There's a floral note too, which reminds us of lychees.
It's a washed coffee, so the mucilage and fruity sugars are washed from the beans during processing. It helps all those complex flavour notes come across really cleanly.

Meet the grower

Francisco Restrepo is an independent producer with a 5 hectare farm. He grew up in Ecuador and lived in the city, but often took time to visit an old family farm near his hometown in Quito. A delve into his ancestry led him to discover that his grandfather used to be a small farmer in Colombia's famous coffee triangle - so he decided to follow in his footsteps, converting the farm near Quito and joining the new wave of up and coming growers embracing Ecuador’s speciality coffee movement.
