This trio of Darjeelings showcases the incredible breadth of flavour on offer at the revered Castleton Tea Estate, which holds the record for the most expensive tea lot ever sold.

From first flush, a rare and delicate clonal white tea with tropical fruit notes. From second flush, a world exclusive clonal oolong tea with floral and muscatel notes. And the tea that helped to make Darjeeling famous - the iconic Castleton second flush black.

For each collection, our experts have chosen three teas or coffees which are particularly exciting when they're tasted together. Whether they're linked by similaries or contrasts, each set offers a unique theme to explore.

Inside this Collection

To start off, there's a very delicate white tea from the first flush harvest - it's just starting to show some tiny glimpses of the muscatel flavour that made Darjeeling famous, but it's so subtle that you can find some other nuances too, like a gentle note of tropical fruits.

Next, there's an oolong tea from the second flush harvest. Suzy our Senior Tea Buyer, had this oxidised to her exact specifications, to develop the flavour and show some real points of difference between this and the other two teas. There's still a touch of fruitiness, but the muscatel is really starting to show - it's brilliantly balanced, and you won't find it anywhere else.

Lastly, there's a fully oxidised second flush black Darjeeling. This is an icon of the tea world - the style of tea that made the region famous, from a producer with an incredible reputation and history. It's bursting with muscatel but there's real complexity lying beneath it, too, with notes of rose, geranium, hazelnut and caramel.
