Our roasting schedule

We roast coffee twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday, and all coffee orders are dispatched within two working days of ordering. The coffee you receive from us will be roasted and sent to you fresh, without exception.

Delivery - Just coffee

Delivery is £3.50, or free if your order is £20 or over. Our
delivery service is Royal Mail Tracked 24, meaning delivery time averages one
working day. Your coffee will likely arrive Thursday, but occasionally Friday.
If your coffee doesn’t arrive by Saturday, then please get in touch
at roastery@taylorsofharrogate.co.uk

Delivery - Just equipment

If you’re ordering brewing equipment only, things work
slightly differently. Delivery will always be £5.50 and your order will be sent
by DPD Next Day. It will be dispatched the next working day, and will arrive
the next working day after that.

Delivery - Coffee and Equipment

If you’re ordering coffee and brewing equipment together,
then postage will be £5.50 and your order will be sent by DPD Tracked. But
because your coffee will be roasted to order on the next Tuesday, the whole
delivery will be sent out on the Wednesday and arrive on the Thursday.

This Honey processed Mexican coffee is produced by Wilfrido Martinez Gonzalez in Santiago Atitlan, Oaxaca.

The classic Mexico flavour profile is enhanced by the honey processing and creates tropical sweet and juicy flavours that help us hang onto the summer warmth a little longer.

The farm El Chango – which means Monkey was named in the 70s after the many Spider Monkeys that would hang on the trees around the farm.

The Producer Wilfrido Martinez Gonzalez

Wilfrido was born and raised surrounded by coffee trees and cherries. Coffee was always a way of life for him. Carrying on his family tradition of producing coffee – he runs Finca El Chango with his partner Macrina Antonio Lopez.

El Chango was named for the Spider Monkeys back in the 70’s which thrived in the area and would play in the trees around the farm. Unfortunately, now they are endangered and a less common sight on the farm.

The Coffee

The Coffee

This lot is made up of 4 different varieties grown on El Chango.

Wilfrido has been a part of Caravela’s PECA program which invests in educating farmers, assisting them with better practices on their farms.

Wilfrido has been experimenting and currently processes washed, naturals, and honey coffees. All coffees are carefully picked and floated before processing. This honey processed lot is pulped and transferred to raised beds for slow drying. As the farm is located in a very cloudy and foggy environment, the coffee takes between 15 and 20 days to dry.

Over the years, producing higher scoring coffees has helped Wilfrido improve his quality of life, by receiving a better income which he then reinvests in the farm and in his family. In the short term, Wilfredo plans to expand his farm, plant new coffee trees, and improve his drying station.
